    Generac Power Systems –  Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Eagle, WI is seeking an  Engineer II.

     

    The Engineer II is responsible for providing expertise regarding new equipment development as well as continuous improvement of legacy systems. Day to day responsibilities include mechanical design, PLC programming, and electrical system integration. Additionally, candidates will facilitate processing parts through design, fabrication, assembly, and prove out.  

     

    This position reports to the Engineering Supervisor.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Designs, validates, and deploys new machinery within operations.
    • Provides technical support for legacy machinery to include both maintenance and continuous improvement.
    • Utilizes experience to drive improved automation.
    • Specifies precise new machine functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates standard, medium complexity components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (risk analysis), and safety.
    • Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, maintenance, manufacturing engineering, and production to optimize medium complexity designs for the end user.
    • Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
    • Utilizes PLC programming proficiency to develop programming instructions for optimal machine operation.
    • Support new production introductions with machinery justifications (schedule, project cost, functional requirements).
    • Acts as a technical resource for maintenance and other engineers.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

     

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline;


    3 – 5 years of relevant work experience;

     

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, Solid Works and/or ProE);
    • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills;
    • Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements;
    • Diverse skills and experience leading projects;
    • Experience collaborating cross-functionally to achieve desired results;
    • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict resolution;
    • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to translate technical information to all audiences

    Physical Demands:   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
