    Genreac Power Systems - Work with the leader in the power industry! Our Janesville, WI Distribution Center is seeking a Shipping Coordinator. 

     

    The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for compiling orders from customers into waves for the order selectors to pick. This position ensures that the orders are complete, printed and reviewed prior to start of operations and through-out the day.  You may be asked to help manage customer requirements including accessing customer portals, ensuring customer requirements are being met.  Additionally, carrier assignment and transportation arrangements for customer orders may fall within your scope of work. A successful candidate will be able to thrive in a data driven environment. The coordinator will assist management in developing daily work plans and scheduling work for associates, as well as communicate with other departments as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage carrier assignment and transportation arrangements for customer orders.
    • Manage customer requirements, as required, ensuring all have been appropriately met.
    • Review daily backlog/order pool and plan order waves based on priorities.
    • Release work to the work queue in a manner that ensures maximum levels of productivity and order turn times.
    • Research and aid in resolving product order shortages
    • Generate pick-tickets for use in picking
    • Identify all orders that are unable to be shipped and start resolution process.
    • Monitor GI dates for orders and ensure all are planned for timely shipment
    • Handle special requests such as expedite requests and special handling instructions
    • Monitor processing of previous waves to ensure production flow is maintained and bring any issues to management attention immediately in order to meet daily deadlines
    • Analyze wave configuration to maximize efficiency
    • Identify orders with incorrect statuses and move to confirmed, shipped and invoiced
    • Communicate any late shipments and problem orders to management
    • Create reports for leadership as requested
    • Work with fellow team members in support of process improvements and cost reductions
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

     

    • Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
    • Must have demonstrated process improvement and systematic process improvement skills
    • Experience with fundamental distribution and operations principles and practices
    • Problem solving and conflict resolution experience
    • Effective organizing and planning skills
    • Ability to influence others
    • Ability to investigate and troubleshoot flow /process issues.
    • Knowledge of key warehouse functions (i.e. Receiving, Inventory Management, Order Processing, Replenishment, and Shipping).
    • Proficient experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) with intermediate level skills in Excel.
    • SAP experience preferred
    • Ability to read, write, understand and effectively communicate pertinent information and standard operating procedures.
    • Must be able to function in a quick moving, highly interactive team environment.
    • Must have the ability to multi task as well as be detail oriented.
    • Must possess natural curiosity and ability to recognize missing elements.
    • Must have the ability and willingness to work collaboratively with other people and departments.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the business.
    • Must be a self-starter, creative thinker, and results oriented individual.

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
