    Generac Power Systems - Work with the leader in the power industry!  Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, WI, is seeking an Account Manager I to join our Retail Sales team.


    As a Retail Account Merchandiser you will have the responsibility to help achieve both short and long-range strategic objectives through successful planning and execution of sales strategies primarily in the field. In this role you will work cross-functionally with other departments within Generac to help achieve your goals. 


    • Assist in developing a comprehensive sales strategy to support the company’s objectives and business plans, including consistent growth and profitability through new product introduction and brand recognition.
    • Work with Generac sales team to analyze POS and discover trends, areas of need, and growth opportunities.
    • Responsible for training new store personnel on our existing products, as well as educating the personnel on our product and brand.
    • Performs merchandising duties to ensure product is appropriately reflected in our retail locations, is displayed correctly, and stocked according to the planogram.
    • Participates in trade show events or promotional events by conducting demonstrations and trainings, and helping set up and break down event.
    • Establish goals, measure results, evaluate resources and put development plans in place as needed.
    • Work with clients to develop sales and promotional opportunities to generate revenue.
    • Grow sales of existing, excess and obsolete products by strengthening account relationships.
    • Maintain understanding of rapidly changing competitive environment to minimize threats and capitalize on new opportunities.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience.
    • 2 years sales or marketing experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience selling durable or consumer packaged goods.
    • Ability to negotiate and navigate new opportunities with the customer.
    • Proven success in developing and fostering business relationships.
    • Detailed, focused, and organized. Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture.
    • The ability to transfer information while speaking in small and large groups.
    • Excellent communication/presentation skills.
    • Strong negotiation skills, excellent people skills, and the ability to handle difficult situations to success.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus.  Up to 40% travel and valid Driver’s License required.
