    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry!  Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, WI, is seeking an Account Manager I to join our Retail Sales team.

     

    The  Account Manager for new retail business is responsible for developing and implementing national sales strategies for increasing sales and profits through one major national customer as well as finding and executing new accounts throughout the US and Canada.

     

    Channels include mass retail, sporting goods retailers, and specialty retailers in general with hardline CPG product lines.  This role will be responsible for presenting sales material and following up on sales service to develop new business opportunities. This role represents the entire range of company products (primarily consumer level goods) while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring customers’ needs and expectations are met.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops and implements strategic sales plans focused on growing sales in both current and new accounts.
    • Ability to work with internal teams to develop and create new products and programs for retailers based on interactions.
    • Documents accounts identifying key stakeholders and outline successful selling strategies and account management plans.
    • Ability to take key POS data and create meaningful suggestions to the retailer.
    • Designs and drives marketing plans directly related to products.
    • Prepares price quotations, terms of sales, and RFP responses subject to company policy.
    • Drives flawless service execution, analyses the current business and implements new strategies.
    • Develops trusting and productive relationships with clients.
    • Expands Generac existing business and focus on ways to expand business into new areas.
    • Investigates product and service concerns and ensures resolution of customer issues.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience.
    • 2 years sales experience in B2B sales to Retail accounts.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Must have a "hunter" attitude and be unsatisfied with closed doors.
    • Previous experience with managing regional or national accounts with multiple decision makers responsible for direction of the business.
    • Previous sales experience with Walmart or knowledge of RetailLink.
    • Previous experience designing and driving marketing plans directly related to product expansion and penetration in the marketplace
    • New business development and new product launch experience.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel).

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 35% travel including Canada and valid Driver’s License required.
