    Generac Power Systems - Work with the leader in the power industry!  Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, WI, is seeking an Industrial Designer to join our team.

     

    The Sr. Graphic Designer develops effective ways to get messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, and various print and layout techniques; collaborate with the internal team, ad agencies, writers and web content specialists to blend copy with graphic designs for maximum impact and to build brand equity.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with sales and other marketing personnel and product teams to create layouts for communication materials.
    • Conceptualize and design for all marketing needs, across all media, including work on branding initiatives, logos, seasonal marketing campaigns and the development of complete national programs. Projects include print ads, sales materials, direct mail, promotional flyers, displays and signage and other published materials.
    • Communicate with vendors for substrate selection, fulfillment requirements, mailing requirements and press checks for final proofing and editing before production.
    • Create designs and layouts for websites, corporate intranet, email communications and online interfaces.
    • Design materials for Web-based advertising and marketing campaigns.
    • Work closely with creative and marketing team members as well as other departments to help develop efficient work flow and processes.
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of file management systems for all photography and existing projects both in work and completed. 
    • Help established templates and brand look and ensure compliance to existing standards.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience;
    • 5 years previous design experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience in full-cycle graphic design project management including development of a strategic vision and execution of tactical components to drive project to completion;
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask multiple projects and tight deadlines;
    • Experience using Adobe CS6 in Windows environment;
    • Experience designing for widely varying audience’s e.g. general consumers, business executives and technical professionals including contractors, builders and engineers;
    • Ability to successfully persuade/influence team members, sell ideas effectively and deliver results;
    • Excellent skills in communication and creativity. Problem solving skills are important as work is both team based and individual, depending on the specific project;
    • Must be able to create compelling, clear and focused designs that meet sales and marketing objectives;
    • Experience designing for a manufactured product;
    • Production design experience;
    • Previous Packing and In-Store environment design experience;
    • Microsoft Office Suite;
    • Bachelor’s degree.

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 10% travel and valid Driver’s License required.
