    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Corporate Product Manager.

     

    The Corporate Product Manager works under the direction of the Director Corporate Product Management, to drive the execution of global platform strategies. The Corporate Product Manager will coordinate global efforts between all product management teams and act as a liaison to ensure successful execution of both corporate and product strategies.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a program manager to successfully drive the definition and execution of global platform strategies.   Duties include:
      • Assist in gathers and maintains category foundational research. This includes industry- and consumer-focused research (e.g., industry outlet share, market share, and retail sales by price tier, competitive product profiles, consumer “pain points” and usage/attitude research).
      • Assist with three year product roadmap to deliver concept ideation such as Unique Selling Propositions, roadmap of new projects, improvements to existing products and product lines, new product launch timing, phasing out old product timing, channel/customer driven NPI (New Product Introduction) projects, and cost reduction projects.
      • Assist in-country Product Managers to collaborate across functions and lead indirect teams to move projects through the stage gate development process.
      • Assist in working collaboratively with the Engineering team to understand critical intellectual property, regulatory standards, legislation in order to update product category strategy as needed.
    • Develop practices and processes aligned to enhance the performance and efficiencies of the Product Management function;
    • Build a standard format for reports and presentations to be used for internal stakeholders and external customers, templates would including relevant metrics and information related to the product line or category.
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • 3 years of progressive work experience in marketing, sales,  product management or engineering

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated technical skills for executing new product development projects in a manufacturing and engineering environment

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Strong Project Management skills
    • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to comprehend power generation concepts and components
    • Strong presentation skills with the ability to initiate and support marketing communications and marketing services projects including advertising campaigns, packaging and merchandising development, sales collateral development, publicity programs, and trade show management
    • Strong business acumen
    • Ability to analyze and summarize competition and competitive landscape
    • Ability to comprehend and communicate technical information to a wide variety of audiences
    • Effective organizational and prioritizing skills
    • Ability to act pro-actively and identify innovative solutions
    • Highly motivated and detail-oriented
    • Willing to travel up to 30% of the time, including internationally.

     

    Physical Demands:  

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 30% travel, including International and valid Driver’s License required.
