    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Software QA Analyst II.

     

    The Software QA Analyst II is a critical member of our software product team developing iPhone, Android and web apps that will enable IoT devices; ensuring the overall product quality, releasing the product after stringent review. This role is also responsible for developing code to support the application architecture and develop coded tests and software code modifications as needed to complete testing requirements. This role will partner with the product architect and you will be responsible for delivering test cases and test results contained within the sprint, drive; continuous integration/build and automated unit testing that aligns with agile development best practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and execute test plans for the assigned project.
    • Record and document results and compare to expected results.
    • Detect software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
    • Generate historical analysis of test results.
    • Document anomalies and issues.
    • Maintain software defects in the defect tracking system.
    • Test execution of code in various environments under varying conditions.
    • Verify specific action or function of code.
    • Operate and maintain test networks.
    • Provide application instructions for users.
    • Develop and document application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications.
    • Create meaningful error handling procedures for application code.
    • Perform application security audits.
    • Create queries, scripts, web pages and other test artifacts.
    • Participate in application planning meetings.
    • Ensure data integrity standards.
    • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and system goals and identify and resolve systems issues.
    • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of the product API with external API consumers.
    • Maintain technical expertise in emerging technical trends.
    • Develop code to support the completion of the application architecture, as needed.
    • Develop coded tests and software code modifications as needed to complete testing requirements.
    • Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent experience in the computer science function within a similar working environment.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial software development in one or more of the following roles: Testing Analyst, Automation Testing Specialist, Systems Analyst or equivalent;
    • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, C#, Java.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Testing - HTML5, MQTT, Message Queues, Web Services, Android and iOS devices;
    • High volume transaction systems;
    • Load and performance testing;
    • Knowledge of Mobile and Web Security practives
    • Experience working cross-functionally and with a global team;
    • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.

    Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
