    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Project Manager - Advanced Manufacturing.

     

    The Project Manager - Advanced Manufacturing serves as a dynamic change agent and aggressively leads business improvement through transformational process improvement projects. This role provides sustained improvement to critical manufacturing processes to enable achievement of corporate operations, strategic initiatives and financial targets. This role is responsible for challenging conventional thinking and assembling multiple teams to support tactical efforts, serving as both a team leader and coach.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure project elements are tracked and fulfilled by the various stakeholders;
    • Work with Engineering and Operations to coordinate development and implementation of new products, processes and technologies;
    • Ensure understanding among strategic decision makers through clearly stated project charters and scope documents;
    • Ensure the successful application of best practice project management, problem solving, and lean implementation tools and methodologies;
    • Ensure consistency with corporate vision, direction, policies and guidelines;
    • Mentor and guide project and team members to deliver on the project/program requirements;
    • Act as liaison with corporate CI to mature the sites toward “model” operation;
    • Serve as a conduit for the flow of information, the sharing of best practices and external benchmarks;
    • Coordinate communication activities that highlight and publicize plans, goals and results;
    • Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned;
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Industrial Technology or equivalent experience.
    • 5 years of progressive operations management experience in a similar work environment.

     

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Ability to work with diverse personalities while remaining tactful, professional and flexible;
    • Ability to work with large volumes of process data and statistical methods;
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
    • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment;
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams and individuals cross-functionally;
    • Proven ability to identify technology gaps and develop roadmaps to close them;
    • Proven experience in delivering process improvements;
    • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes and environments;
    • Demonstrated understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean enterprise;
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SPC and data analysis skills;
    • Previous experience using SAP-ME or equivalent MES systems.

     

    Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
