    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Product Manager for our Remote Monitoring team.

     

     

    The Product Manager-Remote Monitoring develops product category strategy, ensures the successful launch of new products and is responsible for life-cycle management. This role prioritizes creation of strategies against business needs and market demand. In this critical role you will gather and maintain category foundational research and synthesize data into facts and trends that validate company direction on product and program development. This role drives the innovation-based three year product road-map and interfaces with Engineering to understand critical I.P. (Intellectual Property) landscape such as new technologies and intellectual property updates. This role understands product quality metrics and communicates any quality issues to sales leadership. This role interfaces with Engineering to understand regulatory standards, legislation and update current product category strategy as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Interfaces with Engineering to understand critical I.P. (Intellectual Property) landscape such as new technologies, intellectual property updates.
    • Interfaces with engineering, legal and compliance departments to understand regulatory standards, legislation and updates current product category strategy as needed.
    • Develops product category strategy for the remote monitoring business. Product category strategy includes specific, measureable goals such as percentage of market share, net sales, product revenue and margin growth.
    • Prioritizes creation of strategies against business needs and market demand.
    • Gathers and maintains category foundational research. This includes industry- and consumer-focused research (e.g., industry outlet share, market share, retail sales by price tier, competitive product profiles, consumer “pain points” and usage/attitude research).
    • Communicates quality issues to direct manager, engineering, quality and sales leadership.
    • Synthesizes data into facts and trends that validate company direction on product development.
    • Drives cross functional product launch activities including - directing marketing launch requirements, delivery of product webinars, disseminating product information though the organization and partner channels.
    • Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • 3 years of progressive work experience in marketing product management

     

     Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience managing subscription based business models
    • Experience working as a product owner in an engineering centric agile scrum team
    • Prior work in marketing and product management with remote monitoring or communications systems
    • Solid understanding of the competition and competitive landscape, current technologies and emerging technologies
    • Demonstrated technical skills for executing new product development projects in a manufacturing and engineering environment
    • Proven ability to conceive, develop and launch new products using a cross-disciplinary approach
    • Ability to initiate and support marketing communications and marketing services projects including advertising campaigns, packaging and merchandising development, sales collateral development, publicity programs, and trade show management
    • Ability to act pro-actively and identify innovative solutions
    • Ability to read and understand technical information well enough to convey in communication to multiple audiences
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Effective organizational and prioritization skills
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly motivated and detail oriented
    • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.

     Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
