    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Waukesha, WI is seeking an Engineer I for our Emissions group.

     

    This position is responsible for supporting engine emissions certification and compliance/regulatory support for all Generac products.  This position works cross-functionally with; Operations, Quality, Strategic Global Sourcing and, Service Groups. 

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Assists in application processes for U.S. EPA, California Resource Board and European Union emissions certifications. 
    • Support Generac product emissions testing programs for air and liquid-cooled engines, including but not limited to, writing emissions testing Work Orders and performing preliminary post-test data evaluation.
    • Develop and implement emissions compliance strategies for all Generac engines and products.
    • Research and track proposed new emissions certifications regulations.
    • Develop, implement and document codifies Emissions Engineering processes.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline
    • 0 – 3 of years

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • SAP user experience
    • Ability to use basic engineering knowledge to improve products or services
    • Able to solve basic engineering problems; good decision-making skills
    • Technical Skill to include 3D modeling (ProE or SolidWorks); MS Excel, MS Word
    • Proficient oral and written communication
    • Some exposure to machine design preferred
    • Previous work experience preferred


    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
