    Job Summary:

     

    The Materials Coordinator is responsible for compiling schedules from planning into waves for stock transfer order releases. This position ensures that the orders are complete, released and parts are in the correct location at the correct time. You may be asked to help manage material requirements including accessing planning requirements in order to meet material goals. A successful candidate will be able to thrive in a data driven environment. The coordinator will assist management in developing daily work plans and scheduling work for associates, as well as communicate with other departments as needed.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage schedules from planning to ensure parts are in correct locations.
    • Review daily backlog/order pool and plan materials based on priorities.
    • Release work to the work queue in a manner that ensures maximum levels of productivity and order turn times.
    • Research and aid in resolving material shortages.
    • Identify all materials not in correct locations at correct times. Start resolution process to ensure this issue does not reoccur.
    • Handle special requests such as expedite requests and special handling instructions.
    • Monitor processing of previous waves to ensure production flow is maintained and bring any issues to management attention immediately in order to meet daily deadlines.
    • Analyze wave configuration to maximize efficiency.
    • Communicate any late materials and problem orders to management.
    • Create reports for leadership as requested
    • Work with fellow team members in support of process improvements and cost reductions.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Associates degree or equivalent experience
    • 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing warehouse environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • SAP Experience;
    • Problem solving and conflict resolution experience;
    • Ability to read, write, understand and effectively communicate pertinent information and standard operating procedures;
    • Experience with fundamental distribution and operations principles and practices.
    • Knowledge of key warehouse & materials functions (i.e. Receiving, Inventory Management, Order Processing, Replenishment & Shipping);
    • Effective organizing and planning skills;
    • Ability to investigate and troubleshoot flow/process issues;
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other people and departments.
