    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our Engine Powered Tools team is seeking a Supplier Relationship Specialist. This position will be located in our office in Jefferson, WI.

     

    The Supplier Relationship Specialist is responsible for maintaining an agile and aggressive supply base while procuring high quality goods at a fair and competitive price. This position is also responsible for monitoring of performance, development, and risk management of suppliers.   This position monitors performance related metrics and key performance indicators and ensures follow up to enhance supplier performance. This position, as a representative of CHP, will work closely, on the ground and virtually, with overseas and North American suppliers. They will build relationships, ensure quality, assist with manufacturing process, and push suppliers to meet pricing needs of the company. The individual in this position will work directly with CHP’s product development / merchandising, engineering, quality and worldwide manufacturing facilities. This position will be a contributor to the company’s overall supply chain management cost reduction and risk aversion initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Analyze and report on organizational spend.

    • Collect Market Intelligence Data.

    • Develop comprehensive request for proposals, analysis and reporting of benchmarking information.

    • Prepare presentations for supplier management activities including supplier strategy and negotiation.

    • Identify new suppliers to support product strategy for new or existing products.

    • Review and develop process documentation as advised by cross-functional teams.

    • Record and audit reported savings and total cost of ownership.

    • Aid in material management escalations.

    • Develop Supplier Directory and other compliance/analytical support as required.

    • Utilize tools and procedures that capture current and historical KPIs, corrective actions, audit data etc.

    • Monitor and track supplier performance. Manage record keeping of critical suppliers that allows monitors performance on a monthly basis.

    • Coordinate communications approach with suppliers.

    • Increase the responsiveness of the supply chain (Faster problem solving/time to market).

    • Enhance supplier relationships

    • Facilitate value-driven, long-term improvements in supplier products / services / relationship from key suppliers by identifying critical areas for development and working with supplier in a collaborative fashion to drive improvements.

    • Monitor ongoing supplier relationship risks and evolving external environment risks and implement appropriate mitigating actions.

    • Liaison between departments that work rely on the sourcing department such as engineering and manufacturing.

    • Travel up to 20% of the time.

     

    Qualifications

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

    • 3+ years’ experience of Supply Chain experience 

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills
    • Hands-on engineering and/or plant operational experience, preferred
    • Strong data manipulation skills including database application knowledge
    • Experience with quality methods like PPAP, Six Sigma or Lean
    • Abilities in influencing, problem solving, decision making, and relationship building
    • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace and changing environment

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel – up to 30% of the time.
