    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our growing Consumer Power Business Group team is seeking a Channel Marketing Director.  This position would be located in our office in Waukesha, WI.

     

    The Channel Marketing Director – Consumer Power is responsible for setting strategic marketing direction to achieve operating plans within the specified complex, multiple channels of distribution.  Build and manage the regional channel marketing team to properly balance both the need for agility on tactical channel activities and strategic. Create and maintain a map for multiple channels to serve as a foundation for assigned business group strategic direction while aligning the needs of the global Business and Corporate strategy to create a winning company and sustain profitability and growth.  This position also partners with Consumer Power President to execute on global vision for the business and build common channel programs across multiple regions in support of Powering Ahead.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Designs and directs the work of the functional area for the assigned business group/region. Selects, coaches and develops a winning team, setting objectives that align with company and business group strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.
    • Build strategy, vision and category positioning for the assigned product line categories and multiple marketing channels. Provides fact-based strategic product, business and market direction based on multiple inputs including product steering committee, industry sales trends, Generac sales leaders and financial data, primary and secondary market research, competitive analysis and regulatory trends. 
    • Create, build and grow a channel map (for multiple channels) to serve as the foundational business group strategy aligning with the Corporate strategy to create a winning company and sustain profitability and growth;
    • Monitor and track the competitors’ brands and products, competitor market share and Generac’s market share to understand trends and opportunities;
    • Project manage (i.e. budgeting, milestones, deliverables, timelines and KPI’s) highly visible, strategic initiatives that will transform processes and capabilities in multichannel marketing;
    • Working with marketing team, gathers and maintains product category and marketing channel foundational research. This includes channel, industry, customer/consumer, category and product information, (i.e. sales reports, industry data, etc.) to maintain a pulse for the business within the product line and/or distribution channel and assigned accounts.  Synthesizes data into facts and trends that validate company direction on marketing approach.
    • Execute brand and marketing communication plans, overseeing the art design of advertising and promotional programming, including broadcast and print, in-store merchandising signage or displays, retailer feature ads, catalog layouts, event (trade shows) properties, and Consumer Power channel-specific marketing support materials. Ensures consistency with internal and customer brand guidelines and point of sale requirements.
    • Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in channel management, marketing, and/or brand management;

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience and demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a winning team of channel marketing Managers; that execute both tactical and strategic channel initiatives with agility for assigned Business Group/Region
    • Experience working in a matrix organization leading direct and indirect teams towards common goals and initiatives;
    • Experience overseeing the development of a channel map to sustain profitability improvement and growth for assigned channels; demonstrating ability to pivot and adjust for unique channel needs;
    • Proven ability to design and define channel marketing strategy for assigned business group which includes more than one complex channel
    • Ability to work collaboratively across global geographies with various hierarchy and multiple functional areas, to insure standards, systems and long term vision are met for the regional business group and global business.
    • Effective project management skills, strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to act proactively, achieve deadlines and drive urgency;
    • Demonstrated ability to champion change and influence and facilitate results in a complex organization

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. 20% travel.
