    Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager.

     

    The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for planning the Industrial Solutions brand, channel and product marketing campaigns.  This position is also responsible for leading a team of creative professionals who ensure the visual presentation of the Generac brand, products and services are compelling, customer-focused and aligned with business goals.  This position will report to the Business Group President.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved;
    • Develop and execute highly effective Industrial Solutions brand, channel and product marketing campaigns and programs including new product launch objectives, strategies and plans in alignment with the overall corporate and business unit strategic goals and objectives. Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical paths and communicates regularly with project stakeholders.  Proactively manage scope changes, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans;
    • Under the direction of the Business Group President, create and enforce the brand guidelines, and sets the creative direction for the (Business Group) Generac brands.  Conceive, plan and execute brand and marketing communication projects, including in creative development, advertising, publicity, promotions, product launches and sponsorships;
    • Execute brand and marketing communication plans, overseeing the art design of advertising and promotional programming, event (trade shows) properties, and Industrial Solutions channel-specific marketing support materials. Ensures consistency with internal and customer brand guidelines and point of sale requirements;
    • Manage the Generac Industrial Solutions brand strategy to ensure that equity is improved in the market.  New brand strategies developed will include use of new media channels and repositioning the brand as appropriate.  Manage the overall brand portfolio that includes the Generac brand as well as licensed brands and the overall brand architecture.  Develop brand strategies to incorporate and evolve additional brands as they are created with new products and via acquisitions;
    • Manage the relationship with multiple outside agencies, freelancers, printers, etc. and effectively control production budgets;
    • Diplomatically negotiates with internal stakeholders (clients) on project scope and frequently shifting priorities and deadlines;
    • Align with Industrial Solutions product marketing managers to identify well-defined target audience(s) and messaging for marketing campaigns/programs;
    • Oversee Industrial Design team which interacts with all teams throughout the Generac organization contributing to product development, innovation and marketing;
    • Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned;
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent experience;
    • 5 years of channel management, project management, creative services management and/or sales or business management experience. 

    Preferred Qualifications:

     

    • Ability to provide leadership and direction to ensure effective implementation;
    • Experience in brand and product positioning for multi-brands;
    • Experience in B to B, independent dealer, and 2-step distribution channels;
    • Experience in developing communications and messaging to end use business customers;
    • Experience in web and digital design;
    • Experience and successful development of go-to-market marketing materials (collateral, packaging, in-store POP, signage, brochures, etc.);
    • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.

     

    Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
