Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Berlin, WI is seeking an Inside Sales Representative. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for taking a consultative approach to sales to develop accounts and manage a sales territory through cold calling and building relationships. This position is focused on growing a portfolio of repeat customers across the United States.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and grows relationships with key customers/stakeholders, acting on new information and monitoring customer satisfaction, meeting sales budget and aligned program partner goals.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
Proactively acquires new customers through outbound calling initiatives.
Uses in-depth knowledge of product application to assist customers in selecting product for their business and to aid in market-need based product development initiatives.
Utilizes consultative sales skills to cross-sell a variety of complex products to exceed customers’ needs.
Effectively communicates, both written and orally, with customers when delivering sales presentations, product and marketing information, and all account updates.
Introduces customers to the Generac Mobile programs and products.
Establishes, reviews, and reports market activity, market penetration, pricing, margins, selling approaches and itineraries to product management.
Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
Resolves issues by working with the customer, commercial sales and/or product marketing.
Travels throughout assigned area to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers by phone.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field of study or equivalent experience.
3 years’ combined experience in both sales and customer service functions
1 year of demonstrated achievement in a direct sales role
Experience selling industrial, mechanical or technical products and a technical/mechanical aptitude is desirable.
Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices involved in new business development, product marketing, and sales.
Requires exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication, time & territory management, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships. Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver presentations, training and business solutions.
Demonstrated knowledge and skill of proper techniques for prospecting, telemarketing, wholesale, rental and retail closing techniques, and quotation & specification writing
Requires well-developed problem solving and negotiation skills across the pricing spectrum. Must have an understanding of financing alternatives and solutions.
Ability to work and communicate effectively and positively in a team environment.
Proficient with CRM program
Demonstrated efficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to travel as needed, up to 15%
Proof of valid driver’s license and insurability
