    Our Waukesha, WI headquarters is seeking a Director, E-Commerce Sales with a primary responsibility to lead a National team to achieve sales goals in our e-retail business across the Residential Consumer Products Division.   The Director, E-Commerce is responsible for the entire range of sales planning and development and will define the strategy for growth to ensure we are at the cutting edge of e-retail.  You will develop key relationships to ensure we are maximizing user experience, product assortment, and e-merchandising strategy (catalog, trade, promos, testing, new products) and provide analysis of sales results to executive leadership and customers and recommend sales solutions to drive and grow business. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team.
    • Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development.
    • Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.
    • Negotiates and aligns business plans with e-retailers to create strong relationships with regular reviews of joint KPIs. 
    • Establishes Generac Power Systems, Inc. as a best in class supplier which e-retailers will see as first choice for our product categories
    • Communicates internally all sales plans, business opportunities, trends and post results
    • Work directly with key stakeholders to brainstorm strategy and execute new product launches, promotions, merchandising, etc.
    • Understand the multichannel path to purchase to drive  digital strategies and sales
    • Educate our sales team on how to ensure online sales are a part of their retail plan
    • Develop close working relationships with the web teams at our retailers to ensure that our products are shown in the best possible way online ensuring an easy path to purchase. 
    • Develop and share content with our online partners and propose value added services including consumer reviews
    • Work with our partners to improve logistics and provide solutions

     

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • 3 years e-tail/e-commerce experience
    • 6 – 8 years of managerial experience in the areas of sales, marketing, customer operations or operations
    • 3 – 5 years of sales management leadership experience
    • Ability to travel 30% including international travel to Canada

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Extensive knowledge of sales force effectiveness, best practices, business processes and commercial systems
    • Expert knowledge and application of both principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and services
    • Demonstrated effective negotiation skills
    • Excellent sales, interpersonal, management, motivation and analytical skills
    • Proven competitive analysis skills
    • Ability to convert metrics into meaningful information
    • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-starter with initiative and vision
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to direct and motivate sales staff

       

     

    Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 30% travel and valid Driver’s License required.
