    Generac Mobile Products – Work with the leader in the power industry! In this field based position we are seeking a National Sales Director

    The National Sales Director is responsible for leading the strategy and the team responsible for all fleet rental and distribution sales within Generac Mobile Products Non-National rental account channels. This position pioneers and grows relationships both corporately and in the field and identifies, develops and implements a national sales strategy that will create new sales opportunities. The National Sales Director leads the strategic plan for given accounts and is responsible for coordinating internal functional areas to deliver a unified face to the customer.

     

    Responsibilities

    Key Duties :

    • Understands the industrial power generation market to include forecasting, pricing, marketing, and research so that the role may direct significant opportunities to the team.
    • Forecasts, develops, manages and achieves assigned budget.
    • Develops accurate and detailed metrics to facilitate effective business forecasting and resource allocation.
    • Manages sales pipeline to maintain consistent flow of opportunities.
    • Works with the Marketing Department to develop initiatives/merchandising/packaging that drive sales efforts into existing and new business areas.
    • Drives the market/field/end user input back to the Generac organization to improve positioning with programs, product development and end user support.
    • Provides critical feed back/team participation in market analysis and program development activities.
    • Leads, coaches, mentors and develops staff, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
    • Conducts performance reviews, rewards team members, provides feedback and coaching as needed, and administers progressive discipline when necessary.
    • Drives vision and strategy for the team, ensuring attainment of company sales and service goals.
    • Works with Marketing teams to integrate the market development strategies into overall marketing and branding strategies and activities.
    • Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
    • Incorporates Generac's customer focused values and concepts of quality into the determination, communication, review and continuous improvement of the customer support functions and planning process.
    • Reviews performance metrics, reports and develop action plans to ensure performance targets are met through the continuous improvement process.
    • Conducts monthly operational reviews on key customer support issues, performance reports, and competitive pricing and promotion analysis.
    • Provides strategic and operational input to Product Development and Engineering, controls budgets for responsible areas, and ensure that customer goals are met.
    • Develops and manages sales and operating budgets.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience.
    • 6 years of successful recent sales or marketing experience working within the equipment rental industry or related OEM.
    • 6 years previous managerial experience leading a dispersed sales team;
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel overnight up to 75%.

     

     

    Additional Qualifications :

    • MBA preferred
    • Extensive knowledge of sales force effectiveness, best practices, business processes and commercial systems in the promotion of Power Generation or Engine Related Solutions.
    • Expert knowledge and application of both principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and services;
    • Demonstrated effective negotiation skills;
    • Excellent sales, interpersonal, management, motivation and analytical skills;
    • Proven competitive analysis skills;
      Ability to convert metrics into meaningful information;
    • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills;
    • Self-starter with initiative and vision;
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
    • Ability to direct and motivate sales staff.
    • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture;
    • Clear understanding and knowledge of the internal processes and systems that support complex national accounts; proven business planning, budgeting, and P&L skills;
    • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.
