    Generac Power Systems - Join the Leader in the Power Industry! Our Waukesha, WI headquarters is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Consumer Power team!


    The Senior Financial Analyst – Consumer Power will be heavily involved in all financial aspects of the consumer power business group. The primary duties include sales and P&L forecasting, participation in month-end close, sales and rebate accruals, actual to budget variance reviews, BI and excel report creation and maintenance, channel & product profitability creation and analysis, promotion and program analysis, cost analysis, creation of the monthly financial reporting package and participation in the annual budget.  


    • Participate in the quarterly financial forecasts and annual budgeting process – working closely with the Director of Finance and other members of the consumer power business group
    • Own certain month-end close items including, certain sales accruals and rebate accruals
    • Own the monthly operating expense variance review analysis for the consumer power business, analyzing budget to actual variances, identifying key trends and communicating cross functionally
    • Act as a significant input to the monthly customer and product profitability P&Ls, working closely with the commercial team and corporate finance
    • Manages the creation of the monthly financial reporting package which delivers key performance metrics to the Director of Finance and President of Consumer Power
    • Involved in the commercial sales promotion analysis, working closely with the sales team and the pricing group in modeling out profitability of proposed activities
    • Perform proactive data mining, aggregation and analysis for the identification of value add business group topics, opportunities, cost savings
    • Manage small-to-large scale projects with cross-functional teams in order to drive results. Must be confident in data analysis, accountability, and can provide actionable results
    • Become super user of both the BI and Longview software systems being able to create and modify analysis independently as well as perform ad-hoc analysis quickly and accurately
    • Expected to create, enhance, and maintain complex financial excel models, analysis, and charts independently


    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or related field

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CPA
    • Previous experience at a manufacturing company strongly preferred
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy is critical and required
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Able to influence others without direct authority and work effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Previous experience using SAP and BI

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
