Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Continuous Improvement Project Manager.

The Continuous Improvement Project Manager is responsible for the design, leadership, training, coaching and implementation of the Generac Manufacturing System and improvements across the Generac production facilities. The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead and manage the deployment of Generac tools, methodologies, standards and processes utilizing customer demand operating principles across the facility. Delivers practical, hands-on training to associates in lean methodology and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, operations and support functions. Develop and execute strategies that improve overall business results. Overall responsibility for coordinating and leading team members cross-functionally and with multiple facilities to meet or exceed company business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deploy demand driven principles (flexibility, speed and responsiveness) as well as strategies that support operational excellence and long range plans.
• Train, develop, motivate, monitor and lead a team of facility lean professionals with an emphasis on championing the goals, objectives and implementation plans relative to the lean assessment needs and strategic direction. 
• Promote a continuous improvement environment by providing leadership and direction for the facility teams.
• Coordinate process improvement projects in support of the Generac Manufacturing System.
• Ensure process improvement activities support business strategic plans and efficiently provide solutions for growth and minimized value chain expense.
• Create and deploy standard Generac tools, methodologies, standards, practices and processes.
• Present to management and improvement teams championing process innovation projects, initiatives and programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or related field OR equivalent experience;
• 3 years of experience in a production environment;
• 2 years of improvement or project management related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-5 years of Engineering experience;
• 1-3 years of Lean implementation experience;
• Lean Certification in manufacturing or administrative areas;
• Materials and Supply Chain Certifications;
• Experience working with international companies and in matrix organizations;
• Demonstrated experience with an ERP/MRP system such as SAP or Oracle;
• Expertise in implementation of lean principles and improvements;
• Experience in demand flow principles and plan for every part (PFEP) methodologies;
• Demonstrated understanding of financial measurements and goals in the lean enterprise;
• Strong project leadership experience with a diversity of team skills;
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams and individuals across a variety of settings;
• Proven experience in collaborating with multiple sites and functions to drive common solutions;
• Strong organization, prioritization and time management skills with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities;
• Demonstrated personal flexibility in approach and ideas;
• Sound business acumen operating in high mix, low volume and high volume, low mix production environments;
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, including the ability to identify creative and effective solutions and the ability to ask the right questions and help frame logical conclusions. 

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 10% domestic travel.
