Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our corporate headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is seeking a Director Aftermarket Parts.

The Director Aftermarket Parts is responsible for planning, controlling, and directing the after-sale support and to define vision, strategies, and tactics to improve the customer experience throughout North America. This position is responsible for directing all direct to consumer and distribution strategies to ensure a first-rate customer experience. The Director will create a culture of exceptional customer service by creating measurable standards of excellence and developing a team of people that are continuously trained and developed to exceed internal and external customer expectations in all required markets and regions worldwide.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs and directs the work of the functional area throughout North America. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.
  • Manage supplier relationships for aftermarket products with Global Sourcing.
  • Create and implement innovative after-sale tools, programs and services that increase revenue and drive customer loyalty.
  • Implement and manage a direct to consumer ecommerce platform working cross functionally.
  • Track, analyze and review reports to ensure that cost, schedule and performance is being controlled and managed within established guidelines.
  • Oversee and develop web based content that supports key deliverables and customer needs. Web based programs will include parts ordering and fulfillment.
  • Oversee service documentation to ensure documentation is complete and accurate and meets customer expectations.
  • Support and actively participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure new release support meets customer expectations on day one.
  • Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 30% travel and valid Driver’s License required.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field; in lieu of degree, 4 years related experience within a similar working environment;
  • 7 years relevant experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience;


Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing company-wide initiatives and processes;
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting and strategic planning;
  • Proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment;
  • Strong attention to detail, outstanding analytical skills, and exceptional communication/interpersonal skills;
  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire, coach, and hold employees accountable to accomplish strategic goals and related tasks;
  • Proven track record of hiring, training, and motivating employees and managing employee performance;
  • Excellent decision-making skills with a customer-first approach;
  • Ability to resolve issues with quick thinking and decisive action;
  • Possess above average knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Power Point, as well as knowledge of process mapping tools.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.
