    As a member of our Corporate Communications & Training department you’ll join a company on the move with opportunity to gain real-world experience and learn first-hand what it means to manage a global, internal communications network at a growing company.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilites

    • Supporting the Corporate Communications Manager in regularly and proactively articulating the mission, goals and progress of the company through various communication channels.
    • Writing and editing content that motivates and informs our employees for communications channels including our intranet, digital signage and newsletters.
    • Assisting in timely distribution of content through management of our communication channels including our intranet, digital signage and newsletters.
    • Developing content and preparing graphics for Generac’s digital signage system.
    • Helping plan, implement and provide hands-on support at major internal communication events.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Have a or currently pursuing a Degree in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing field;
    • Ability to work a minimum of 15-20 hours during school year and full-time during school breaks;
    • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office;

      

    Preferred Qualifications:

                           

    • Junior or Senior status;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to listen effectively and translate information into a compelling story;
    • Detail oriented; strong proofreading and editing skills;
    • Self-motivated; Ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and in multidisciplinary groups;
    • Ability to accept feedback, respond to changing priorities and support a fast-paced business;
    • Flexible and proactive in taking on responsibilities with a willingness to learn;
    • Ability to design graphics for communication channels.

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
