    Generac Power Systems - Join the leader in the power industry! Our Corporate Office in Waukesha, WI is seeking an Engineering CAD/PDM Intern for our Engineering Division.


    The Systems CAD/PDM Intern will support the engineering systems team by developing enterprise process standards to support a demand driven philosophy and approach across the entire Generac product development chain.  This position will assist in implementation, development and maintenance of systems to support Product Data Management/Product Lifecycle Management Systems. You will be preparing CAD documentation, writing procedures, performing data analysis, and organizing standard process documents, reports and developing our PDM document control structure.  Good communication skills with all levels of the organization are required. 


    Responsibilities Include:

    • Organizes documents, standards, policies and procedures within our PDM document control system.
    • Identify areas to improve and optimize data flow though process re-engineering our Product/Project/Library management
    • Develop best practices, define standards for CAD & data management including system and process documentation
    • Help with the strategic integration of Windchill to SAP
    • Helps with training needs in support of new procedures and standards.
    • Prepares presentations in support of the deployment of standard Generac tools, methodologies, standards, practices and processes.


    Basic Qualifications:

    • Enrolled in a 4 year Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related discipline
    • Understanding or working knowledge of Creo or Solidworks
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Database skills a plus)
    • Ability to communicate with Management, Teams and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines and geographies
    • The ability to work a minimum of 12 - 20 hours a week during the school year and full time during school breaks

    Additional Qualifications: 

    • Mechanical aptitude and proven ability to pick up on technical methodologies quickly
    • Skilled at planning by accurately scoping out length and difficulty of tasks and projects
    • Interpersonal savvy, cooperative, coachable team player
    • Demonstrates relentless drive and determination to achieve success
    • Must be detail oriented with an attention to eliminating variation or inconsistencies in documents and systems
    • Professional manner and personal maturity
    • Strong organization and time management skills
    • Solid quantitative skill set and the ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Exposure to Data Management systems a plus
    • Previous relevant work experience a plus
