Generac Power Systems - Join the Leader in the Power Industry! Our Waukesha, WI headquarters is seeking a National Account Manager to join our Retail Sales Team!

 

The National Account Manager is responsible for developing and implementing national sales strategies for increasing sales and profits through national customers. This role manages only national or major (key) accounts. This role calls on national accounts at executive levels (C-level, EVP/SVP and Director) within the clubs retailers (Costco, BJ’s and Sam’s Club) and this role requires previous experience in this channel.  Also includes presenting sales material and follows up on sales service to develop new business opportunities. This role represents the entire range of company products while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring customers’ needs and expectations are met.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans focused on growing sales.
  • Documents accounts identifying key stakeholders and outline successful selling strategies and account management plans.
  • Ability to take key POS data (from Retaillink and other portals) and create meaningful suggestions to the retailer.
  • Must be able to lead and instruct field teams with best practices – must be able to prove past ability to lead diverse teams of field agents.
  • Identifies new account prospects, “blueprints” new account plans and updates routinely.
  • Analyzes and reviews sales trends by region and identify opportunities and threats.
  • Designs and drives marketing plans directly related to products.
  • Prepares price quotations, terms of sales, and RFP responses subject to company policy.
  • Drives flawless service execution, analyses the current business and implements new strategies.
  • Develops trusting and productive relationships with clients.
  • Expands Generac existing business and focus on ways to expand business into new areas.
  • Demonstrate products and services and provide assistance in the best application to the product.
  • Navigates the involvement of multiple departments and personnel within Generac organization and secondary distribution network in order to meet performance objectives and customer’s expectations.
  • Investigates product and service concerns and ensures resolution of customer issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years successful recent experience selling directly to Club Retailers

  • Valid Driver License
  • Ability to travel up to 50% Nationally

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience with managing regional or national accounts with multiple decision makers responsible for direction of the business
  • Previous experience designing and driving marketing plans directly related to product expansion and penetration in the marketplace
  • New business development and new product launch experience
  • Abiliy to effectively communicate at the executive level
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel); proficiency with Adobe
  • Proven track record of YOY sales growth, sales budget achievement, and customer retention
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills

 

 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.Ability to travel up to 50%
