Overview

Job Summary: The Manager Market Solutions is responsible for the promotion and technical sales support of Generac Mobile products with a focus on heat, pump and power. This role assists field Sales Personnel on specific projects and will help identify opportunities to expand our services and product offerings in these areas.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Promotes and provides technical onsite and remote sales support of Generac Mobile products.
  • Assists field Sales Personnel on specific projects and will help identify opportunities to expand our services and product offerings in these areas.
  • Plan and implement sales strategies to maximize market share and margin; motivate customers to prefer Generac Mobile products over the competition.
  • Advise customers on suitability of products based on application and technical needs. 
  • Research and develop customer solutions with internal partners, including design & engineering, sales and marketing and operations
  • Build relationships with key customers to enhance long-term business relationships.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, or bids, including developing pricing, developing strategic plans related to the customer and the proposed solution/sale.
  • Make technical sales-oriented presentations to customers, sales staff and senior management
  • Work with sales and business leadership to develop a business plans to support each market’s Industrial growth initiatives.
  • Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to business and sales leadership.
  • Act as liaison between Sales, Engineering and Product Management on all ongoing projects across respective product lines focusing on margin gains and eliminating or reducing margin erosion.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; or 8 years technical sales/sales support experience without degree;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the power generation industry, including a comprehensive understanding of Power systems, heat and pump products/applications.

Additional Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to communicate at executive level as well as plant operational level;
  • Good understanding of the industrial segment, competitors, products and services.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions built around customer needs.
  • Robust presentation, training and communications skills.
  • Experience utilizing Value Added selling techniques.
  • Experience with preparing sales proposals that meet customer expectations.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to work from a home office;
  • Ability to travel 60-75% of the time, including internationally.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Frequent travel.
