Overview

The Finance Director – Mobile Products Business Group leads the finance and sales operations functions within Generac's Mobile Products Business Group. This role is responsible for the full-time financial oversight of the Mobile Products Business Group including budgeting, forecasting and analyzing the financial performance of all products, channels and customers while serving as a strategic business partner with the leaders of the Mobile Products commercial team.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.
  • Financial oversight of the Mobile Products business group including budgeting, forecasting and analyzing the financial performance of all products, channels and customers
  • Ownership of the build out and ongoing improvements to the teams financial reporting & analysis tools to better direct and evaluate the commercial team's financial planning and performance.
  • Serve as the strategic business partner with the leaders and members of the Mobile Products Business commercial team.
  • Ownership of all OpEx forecasting /comparison to budget.
  • Involvement in establishing, analyzing, tracking, and reporting on profitability of all discounting and promotional programs - post mortem analysis of promo programs.
  • Continuous and deep analysis on Mobile Products Business group related plant overhead, cost pool, BOMs, production and SIOP.
  • Establish full and largely independent of corporate FP&A P&L reporting & forecasting.
  • Create, direct, and communicate ad-hoc analysis and projects as needed on customers, products, or other group related financial metrics.
  • Serve as the Finance Lead of the Mobile Products Business Group creating and delivering presentations monthly to the other members of the business group management team.

Level of Independence:. Acts independently, reporting directly to the General Manager – Mobile Products, will have a dotted reporting structure to the Chief Financial Officer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance;
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined Accounting and/or Finance experience;
  • Prior significant responsibilities over budgeting/forecasting and other financial planning and analysis functions;
  • Prior supervisory experience required;
  • Advanced Excel skills a must.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

                       

  • Prior experience in a publicly-traded company strongly preferred;
  • Prior manufacturing experience strongly preferred;
  • Prior budgeting/forecasting experience for a diversified, multi-national company with a global operations footprint;  
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as project management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to communicate complex financial matters both via writing and presentations in front of executive management;
  • CPA designation.
