Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our Headquarters in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Corporate Quality Project Manager to join our Operations Excellence team!


The Corporate Quality Project Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the Generac Quality Management System across assigned production facilities to drive capable, predictable and repeatable processes. This role is the voice of the customer and acts as the quality liaison for satisfaction relative to product and service quality.  This role is responsible for driving quality improvement activities to improve customer experiences from time of event through root cause investigation while delivering world class service to our customers. Additionally, the Corporate Quality Project Manager needs to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, product develop groups and the sales channels. 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all escalated customer quality incidents including managing the event, the coordination of 8D investigations, write and manage 8D reports and maintains project action items.
  • Represents the quality expectations of the organization to satisfy the requirements fo our customers.
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking product quality data
  • Deploys corporate processes and prodecures within assigned factories
  • Supports factory quality team with new product develpment projects
  • Manage the Customer Problem Reporting and Resolution process and drive related actions.
  • Ensure completion of all customer quality related requests which include surveys, certifications, records and scorecard data.
  • Present quality metrics and analysis regularly to the senior management team and external customers.
  • Lead and follow up on internal and external quality audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or Industrial Technology OR 8 years related experience in the Operations function within a similar working environment;
  • 5 years of Operations or Quality experience.


Additional Qualifications:


  • Ability to drive and implement activities across teams and individuals to meet customer quality expectations;
  • Experience collaborating with multiple sites and functions to drive common solutions;
  • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence  including the ability to identify creative and effective solutions and the ability to ask the right questions, help frame logical conclusions;
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring ability;
  • strong verbal and written communication competencies



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certified Quality Engineer, Advanced knowledge of Six Sigma tools and methodology
  • Multi-plant experience


Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Travel 20 – 30% of the time.
